BaseCamp 2023

(Q&As  updated 14 June 2023)

What is Cambridgeshire’s Basecamp?

It’s an exciting get-together of Scouting volunteers across Cambridgeshire to engage, energise and empower ourselves and our teams to prepare for the changes ahead.

There are lots of positive changes to come, making Scouting even better and easier for new volunteers to join the movement. These changes will start to affect everyone between April 2023 and February 2024.

The event will see up to 200 volunteers coming together to understand that journey – inspiring you to return to your Sections/Groups/District/Teams to spread positivity and bring others along on this journey with us.   The mini-BaseCamp events held locally only provided a high-level overview of the changes and we have much more detail about the changes to share with you.

The event will provide the latest up to the minute information about the changes, involve a series of seminars and workshops during the day, giving you a chance to hear more detail about the transformation changes over the next 3- 9 months, and to ask all the questions you may have.  It is not an event to be missed!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
