Are you looking for:

  • new funding sources, or
  • space to meet, for new adults and young people to join the group, or
  • some external input to your programme, connecting with other local community groups

If so, The Scouts’ website (link) is a great place to start.

Local Support?

Thinking of contacting your local college or University? First check with your District Lead Volunteer (or the County’s Growth Lead) as they may already have established good links given the student/volunteering  base is likely to cover a number local Scout Groups/Units.

Our new Community Engagement Team’s core aim is to create and look after relationships with other organisations that can help Scouts grow locally and further our reach into more communities. We plan to add more information here as contacts are made.

Royal British Legion

Cambridgeshire Scouts is affiliated to Cambridgeshire’s Royal British Legion (RBL).

Many of our Scout sections/Units include the theme of “Remembrance” in their Autumn section programme and/or take part in their local communities’ “Remembrance” events around the 11th November each year. The RBL has a number of resources designed in partnership with The Scouts which may help inform Section Programmes and planning of appropriate events.

The resources help local scouting explore different ways to take part in Remembrance and build key skills.   The links below are to The RBL’s website:

Interested in exploring more about “Remembrance”?

  • Use this RBL page link, where you can also arrange a visit by a local RBL speaker.
  • TIP: Select Cambridgeshire to narrow the search to your local area.  Newmarket Scouting members will need select Suffolk.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
