Volunteer Opportunities

Getting involved as part of team gives a great feeling knowing that you’re helping young people get skills for life. It’s hugely rewarding, will improve your well-being, help you to make new friends and also equip you with skills for life. Volunteering with scouting is always about what you can do, not what you can’t, so there is certain to be a role for you to suit your availability, interests and skills.

From helping out occasionally on a parent/carer rota or playing a vital role behind the scenes, to stepping up as a regular volunteer, our opportunities are as varied as you.  There’s something for everyone, regardless of your experience or background.

We’re talking tidy uppers and tea makers, session planners and fire builders, digital and website team members, fundraisers and treasurers, and all-round team players to support our young people.
The good news is you shape what you do, whether you can only give a few hours once a year or can help more often. Scouts happens when a lot of us give a little (and no, you don’t have to be a Scout or outdoors expert to volunteer)
There are over 100 communities across Cambridgeshire run by adult volunteers who provide fun, challenge and adventure for young people. All are open to getting new people involved and we will welcome you along to find out more without any pressure to join!

Whilst most of our Groups have opportunities available, we also have some specific tasks that we would appreciate support with from time to time. These may help enhance a C.V. or provide a suitable range of projects to support a student’s coursework portfolio.
