The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdańsk, Poland in July/August 2027, and Scouts and Explorers from across Cambridgeshire have the chance to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
We’re now inviting young people to apply to join Unit 16, the Cambridgeshire contingent heading to the Jamboree. This is the first step in the unit member selection process.Applications are now officially open
To be eligible, your birthdate must be between 30 July 2009 and 30 July 2013.
We are running a range of in-person and online information events during the application period. Whether you are a young person keen to apply or a parent/carer wanting to know more, this session will be packed with everything you need to know.
More information will be provided at each event about what it is like being part of a Jamboree Unit, the journey to Poland, the main Jamboree event, costs and getting support with fundraising. We will also include feedback from participants of from the last Jamboree – so you can find out just what it is really means to be part of it.
Each event will end with a question and answer session for you and your parents/carers, all to help you decide if joining this Jamboree is right for you.
We recommend that everyone applying attends one of these events, as they will provide lots of additional information, advice and support about the Jamboree experience and some selection event advice to help you.

The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is a World Organisation of the Scouting Movement (WOSM) event, attended by tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world aged 14-17. It happens every 4 years, each time hosted by a different country. The next World Scout Jamboree will be hosted by The Polish Scout Association and takes place between 30th July to 8th August 2027.
The Jamboree itself lasts 12 days, but you will travel with your Unit as part of the UK Contingent. Final dates will be confirmed within the next few months and will fall within the last week of July to the middle of August 2027.
A “Unit” is made up of 4 adults and 36 young people, split into 4 patrols.
To be eligible as a youth participant at the 26th World Scout Jamboree, you must have been born between 30th July 2009 and 30th July 20123. Please note, these birth dates are fixed by WOSM for each Jamboree and cannot be “adjusted” to fit, even by 1 day.
If you are too young, you will still be eligible for the next Jamboree in Denmark in 2031. If you are born before 30th July 2009, you will be over 18 by the Jamboree, but could still apply to attend this Jamboree as International Service Team (IST), supporting the event.
The first step is to submit your application. We will then invite all applicants to a selection day on either Saturday 11th or Sunday 12th October 2025. After the selection day we will select 36 young people to join Cambridgeshire’s Jamboree Unit -16.
