- Apply for Unit 16 to the World Scout Jamboree – Poland
- CamJam 2027
The 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdansk, Poland in July/August 2027.
World Scout Jamborees (WSJs) are fantastic events and their impact on those that attend can be, in some circumstances, life-changing. Many young people and adults return from Jamborees exhausted but elated! The role of the Unit Leadership team is key in making sure that all the participants in the Unit have a positive experience of the Jamboree – from the moment they are selected right through until the end of the Jamboree experience (which may not be for many months after the Jamboree has actually ended).
Cambridgeshire will have one unit (36 Young people ages 14-18yrs plus four leaders) attending the 2027 WSJ in Poland along with the Units from all other UK Counties/Areas.
Being a Unit Leader, Deputy Unit Leader or Unit Leadership Team Member is challenging but is also extremely rewarding.
The downloadable documents below indicate some of the skills and experiences that would be beneficial for those applying for a Unit Leader, Deputy Unit Leader or Assistant Leader role. Not everyone will have all the skills, and remember many skills and experiences are transferable from other situations (e.g. family life, work, other voluntary commitments). There are also many skills and experiences that would be valuable but we have not got room to list every desirable characteristic here.
Sorry, applications closed on 30th May 2025.
All applicants are being invited to the day as indicated in the pre application information. Those unable to attend will be contacted separately.
Date: Saturday 5th July 2025
Times: Arrive by 9:45am ready to start at 10am. The day will end at 3pm.
Venue: Histon Scout & Guide HQ, 1 Park Drive, Impington, Cambridge CB24 9LY What 3 Words: smiled.reader.turns
The day will offer all applicants the opportunity to meet one another, the County Programme Team and most importantly, some of our keen Explorer Scouts. It will also provide more details of what is expected of each of the team roles and the commitment required.
Preparation:
In preparation for the event, all applicants are being asked to prepare a 10min activity suitable for around 6-8 Explorer Scouts. This activity should be something that they would envisage doing with the Jamboree Unit to help prepare them for the event.
