Transformation

Updated 26/11/2024

We’re transforming volunteering at Scouts to make it easier, more enjoyable and rewarding.

We’re rolling out changes to help us:

Use this link to find out more. The changes will all be underpinned by Go-Live of new digital tools from Scout HQ.

The countdown to Go-Live in Cambridgeshire

from 24 October 2024    – No further volunteers or roles to be added to Compass. No criminal record checks should be submitted.

6 November 2024 – Last day to update Compass

from 7 November 2024 – Compass access frozen for all. Checkout this grid of processes affected.

from 29 November 2024 – Cambridgeshire and most other Counties Go-Live of the new digital tools and most processes start

Cambridgeshire is in a really good place for most of these preparations and we’re looking forward to this going live.

Interested in the new Digital system?

Are you keen to see the new Digital tools which have been well received from volunteer testers from the Early Adopter Counties. Check them out using the following links below to video clip options:

When can Cambridgeshire start informally adopting the changes?

We’ve already started. All District Lead Volunteers have been tasked, by 30 September 2024, to:

  • share their new District team structures with their Groups
  • make sure that all volunteers in their District are aware of their new role titles and are using them
  • informally implement the new “teams-based” approach across their districts

Go-Live Support Team

Cambridgeshire has set up a Go Live Support Team and are delighted to confirm that the team is now in place. This is a team of experienced volunteers who will be on hand to provide support and guidance during the go-live period. From technical questions with the new system, to process and how to questions.

Email the Go-Live support team at:  go-live.support@cambridgeshirescouts.org.uk

In a nutshell…

These changes will make volunteering easier and more fun, so that:

  • We recruit more volunteers and retain current ones
  • Volunteering at Scouts feels rewarding for everyone
  • We consistently and safely deliver a better programme
  • To ultimately make sure that more young people are gaining skills for life

Gearing up for go-live webinars

Scout HQ ran a few webinars recently to help us prepare for the changes. You can watch it back and download the slides for:
