The Blended Model requires you to complete Module 10A Theory, followed by Module 10B Practical Validation.
Module 10A (Theory)
Module 10A is in two parts: a 2½ hours self-led First Response e-learning, followed by a 2½-3hr online facilitated session. Both parts need to be completed before attending a Module 10B Practical Evaluation session – the online facilitated session can only be taken once the First Response e-learning has been completed.
First Response e-learning
The First Response e-learning course can be found on My Learning by using the ‘Explore Learning’ tab and search for ‘First Response e-learning‘, or by following this link:
You will need to enrol on the course and email the learning team at learning@cambridgeshirescouts.org.uk once you have completed it.
Young Leaders do not have access to My Learning so should book a First Response Online Facilitated Session (see below) where they will be able to complete the Young Leaders-only e-learning.
Module 10A First Response Online Facilitated Session
These are run by Hampshire Scouts and there is usually one of these sessions a month.
This can only be taken once the First Response e-learning has been completed.
Module 10B (Practical Validation)
This is a short (45-60min) face to face validation session and there are usually 2 or 3 of these sessions a month at various parts of the county, run by the county First Aid Training Team. This can only be taken once module 10A (Theory) has been completed, and you will be asked to provide evidence of 10A completion prior to the 10B session.
