Hillwalking theory training

Cambridgeshire Scouts Mountain Activities Team (CambsMAT) are running a hillwalking theory training session on 30 November ’24. The skills and knowledge being covered in this session are essential for aspirant permit holders and useful for others heading to the hills, including DofE participants expeditioning in wild country.

Topics include:
. Scout Rules for hillwalking
. Safety in the mountains
. Emergency procedures
. Responsibilities of the leader
. Group management
. Planning
. Maps, compasses and navigation.

Venue – 1st Houghton Scout Hut, Houghton, Huntingdon. 9:30am – 5:00pm.
