What you’ll learn:

  • Module A – Prepare for Take-off! (10am-12.30pm)
  • Module E – Game On. (1.30-4pm)

This is a face-to-face course for Explorer Scout Young Leaders, prospective Young Leaders and DofE volunteers to cover:

You can attend both modules, or just one of them – you will be able to select the modules when you register. If you are between 13.5 and 17 already and considering becoming a Young Leader you need to take at least Module A.

Module A aims to give you the essential information you’ll need to perform your ESYL role safely. It will provide you with the immediate skills needed to assist another section, and to understand your role. You’ll also discover how the Scheme works, and find out how to access further training opportunities.

Module E aims to give you a good understanding of the importance of games in the section meeting. It will give you an idea of the different types of games that can be played and when to use them to the greatest effect.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
