Leader vacancy – WSJ, Unit 26

An opportunity has arisen to join the leader team of Unit 26, for the 25th World Scout Jamboree in Korea this summer.

Unit 26 is a combined Norfolk and Cambridgeshire Unit, comprising 36 young people (27 from Norfolk, 9 from Cambridgeshire) and 4 leaders (3 Norfolk, 1 Cambridgeshire).

The flight dates are leaving Heathrow on 27 July and return to Heathrow on 15 August.

Taking the role would mean:

  1. Being available for the full 3 weeks of the World Jamboree
  2. Joining the Unit 26 team as soon as possible for pre-Jamboree preparation, including the weekend of 14 July for the final Unit 26 training camp.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience of the Explorer age range, previous Jamboree or international scouting experience and proven leadership and excellent interpersonal skills.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
