As we move from short days, damp weather and the impact of lockdown we decided it was time to have something to work towards to across every section and throughout every District to bring our Cambridgeshire scouting family “together” again.
On St George’s Day (23rd April) we will be launching your new County Commissioner’s Challenge – but as that is a bit of a mouthful it will be known as “Challenge 21” ! The Challenge will then run right through to the 31st August.
The aim is to provide a range of ready made challenges from different zones, and where relevant provide things like a template risk assessment and / or resources, and details of what badge elements (including Challenge badges) it will cover.
Now we need your help, as what would Challenge 21 be if we didn’t have a badge to go with it? The badge design competition is open to ALL members of Cambridgeshire Scouts and the closing date is 31st March. This competition flyer has full details of how to enter can be emailed out (or printed off), and will be attached to an e-mail sent out to all leaders on 1st March.
There will be one winner each for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and “other adults” (with shortlisted entries in each category shared on social media for voting) – and the overall winning design will be selected from those. We will confirm the overall winner judging panel members in the next few weeks.
This will be an “occasional badge” which means it can be proudly worn on uniform if you earn it, so you could see YOUR design worn by thousands of people across Cambridgeshire.
We look forward to seeing how creative you all get!
