18 Young Leaders from 4 Districts across Cambridgeshire took part in the recent “Multi Module” weekend at Copley Scout Centre (St Ives).

Over the course of the event these future adult volunteers managed to sign off an incredible 140 individual modules, and the newly introduced Mission Workshop led to 13 missions being validated. This invaluable experience will cover off much of the adult training in due course, once they actually turn 18, and will help them as they work with the Beavers, Cubs or Scouts in their own local Groups.

It’s not all training and learning though! There was a late night pizza run (and yes, that was after they had eaten and made dinner earlier), buckets of popcorn, time around the campfire, 2.5 DVDs and Mama Mia at breakfast! All cooking, washing up, cleaning etc done by the Young Leaders themselves (ssshhh, don’t tell their families….).

Lynne Radbone (Explorer Scout Leader (Young Leaders) who organised the event said “Fantastic weekend. Very proud! Thanks to the facilitators and other presenters too.”
