New Year Honours

Cambridgeshire Scouts are pleased to share the exciting news that former 1st Ramsey Cub Scout Matt Hyde (now Chief Executive of the Scout Association) has been made an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE), in recognition of services to young people.

It was a double celebration for the Hyde family, as his father was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his voluntary service to the community in Ramsey too – which did include being Chair of the 1st Ramsey Scout Group for a time.

Also recognised in the honours list were Scout Ambassador Steve Backshall (with an MBE), a handful of other scouting volunteers from across the UK and a range of people from across Cambridgeshire.

Congratulations everyone!
