“Last Sunday (9th June), over 90 Beavers, Cubs, Young Leaders and Adults from Cromwell District went down to Gilwell Park for the annual Beaver and Cub Funday. The joint visit, now in its sixth year, saw everyone share coaches together to visit the home of UK Scouting.

At the Funday groups had the opportunity to take part in activities such as archery, climbing, crafts, face painting, circus skills, fire lighting and drumming and dancing workshops. Some of the young people on the trip offered the following comments to those thinking of going: “absolutely marvellous”, “awesome”, “challenging”, “a great experience and I’ll definitely come again”, “it’s nice to be independent” and, my personal favourite, “perfecto!”.

For those who haven’t been before, tickets for the event go on sale in the autumn and are £19 per young person (free for adults) at https://fundays.scouts.org.uk/.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and can’t wait for next year, maybe we will see some of you there!”
