Scouting never stops.

Many Scout activities have been cancelled. School’s out. We miss our friends. Our community needs our help. But Scouting never stops (for those who don’t want it to), so we’ve put together a list of fun and exciting activities for you to try at home! (Who knows, you might even learn a skill or two along the way)

It’s all part of something we’re calling:

I.S.O.L.A.T.E.

That’s “Innovative Scouting Overcomes Losing All Time Entirely”

Online Campfire! 6th April @ 18:30

From 7th Redcar Scout Group:

As Scouting has been postponed nationally until further notice and in light of whats going on, I think we need to take a step back and get involved with something fun! So here we go!

We are going to Facebook Live the campfire for our young people locally, nationally and even internationally to be able to view from home with their whole family!

It is not just confined to Scouting either! if you are not part of any scouting section, we would still love it for you to tune in!

Families could even upload videos of them getting involved from home!

Let’s turn off the news and gather as a family and just have a good laugh and sing along! Boost Morale and just have a generally good time! In the light of what is happening, it is time to put some joy back in the world.

Lets get making memories! #COVID19Campfire

Badges at Home!

Following on from the recent badge packs being produced, we’ve taken it a step further and put it into an online platform whereby Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Explorers can view the badges (and a link to the requirements), access resources we’ve sourced, submit evidence to their leader and ask questions.

Over the coming days – we’ll be adding more resources based around delivering scouting online.

If you’ve got any badge resources – please do submit through the website for everyone to share.

You can register your group here: https://badges.bescouts.org.uk/register

St. George’s Day! 25th April

Watch this space for a special online celebration of St. George’s day and how you can get involved.

The Great Indoors!

We know the coming days and weeks are going to be difficult for families across the UK, as the spread of Covid-19 causes schools to close. As the experts in developing skills and bringing adventure to young people, we want to do what we can to help.

While we normally love the great outdoors, we’ve pulled together some inspired indoor activity ideas (if we do say so ourselves). Keep your kids learning new skills and having fun (and avoid hearing ‘I’m bored’ every 30 seconds) all in #TheGreatIndoors.

Check out all the activities here: https://www.scoust.org.uk/the-great-indoors/

Let’s See What You’re Up To!

We want to see what you’re getting up to with your scouting at home, so why don’t you (or a parent/guardian if you’re not quite old enough just yet) show us on social media?

Tag us on Facebook and Twitter at @CambsScouts, and make sure your post has the hashtag #CambsScoutsISOLATE so we know you’re scouting at home! We’re looking forward to seeing all the pictures of the amazing scouting you’re getting up to!

Get Involved!
