B.A.D. (Beaver Activity Days) 2025

B.A.D. is open to all Beavers and is designed as a day packed with fun activities which can meet the requirements of some of the harder elements of the challenge badges.

Spaces are limited to 180 beavers each day to ensure the activities work for the numbers on site – unfortunately this means we are unable to accommodate any young people except for the Beavers and Young Leaders in your Colony.

A Colony may split attendance over both days (book each ticket type for the number required on each day) but each Beaver can only attend one date.

BAD#1 – Saturday 19th July  9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

BAD#2 – Sunday 20th July  9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

FAQs

What does the Beaver fee include?

The £20 fee includes provision of all activities, the event badge and drink refills. There will also be drinks available for Leaders and Young Leaders attending

What do we need to bring on the day?

  • Completed registration form to be handed in to register your Colony on arrival at Copley The form will be sent to you before the date booked.
  • Full list of all attendees in a sealed envelope  clearly named with your Beaver Colony’s name on the outside. Details required for each person include (name, DOB, home address, emergency contact  name and number for use on the day plus all relevant medical information. The envelope will only be opened if needed and should be collected on departure. The list can be printed from OSM, or similar.
  • Refillable drinks bottle: clearly named on the outside, be full  with a non-fizzy.  Everyone needs this.
  • Snacks and packed lunch in a suitable bag to carry around the site. Everyone needs this.
  • Suitable clothing and footwear, depending on the weather!

Lost Property

We recommend that all items of clothing etc. are clearly named (picture a pile of 180 Beaver tops…..!). Lost property will be displayed near the Copley gates until 5pm each day. Any items remaining after both dates will be held for 7 days, and if not claimed will be recycled/donated

Can some of our Parent Helpers come along to help our Colony?

Yes. However, it is the responsibility of the leader-in-charge of the Colony at the event to make sure any helpers, who do not have a valid Scouting disclosure shown on “My membership”, are not left unsupervised with any children.

Our Colony has some young people who must not be photographed/filmed. How is this being controlled?

  • Organisers will be taking photographs, video and sound recordings for appropriate scouting use (current and future), no names will be used.
  • Adults attending with each Colony must know if this means the faces of any Beavers attending are not to be photographed / videoed by the organisers. The leader in charge of the colony on the day must make this known when such images are being taken. We have no control over photographs taken by others.

Will a refund be made if we need to cancel one or more spaces?

Unless the event is cancelled by the organisers, colonies are liable for the full fee for spaces booked – even if you later decide to cancel or want to reduce numbers. Fees are non-refundable unless all event spaces can be filled and the fee collected from another participant.
