Cubs raise £367 for Charity
The 18th Cambridge Cubs swapped hiking boots for running shoes in an effort to raise money for a charity of their choosing. As part of their Community Challenge Badge, the Cubs were asked to find sponsorship for running as many laps of the Arbury Town Green as they could within 45 minutes. Read the full story here |

Scouts Compete for Honours at Mepal
Over 200 Scouts and Explorer Scouts have spent a sunny weekend competing for trophies at the annual County Activity Weekend at Mepal. In small teams, the scouts gave their all to win in events such as archery, sailing, first aid, pioneering and the assault course. Read the full story here |

Autumn of Adventure for Cambridge Beavers

Scouts Gather for Top Awards 2007
More than 150 Scouts from across the county gathered at the Duxford War Museum in October to receive a Cambridgeshire Top Award from the county's Lord Lieutenant, Hugh Duberley. Jamboree Joy for Day Visitors
With 40,000 Scouts attending the World Scout Jamboree from across the globe, some saw it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity not to be missed. Prince marks Scouting's Centenary
Prince William has opened the 21st World Scout Jamboree, marking the 100th anniversary of the movement's founding. He was cheered by hundreds of children as he arrived by helicopter and was presented with a traditional neckerchief commemorating the jamboree, which he hooked over his neck. Beavers 'Go Global' with Beaveree 2007!
680 Beaver Scouts from across Cambridgeshire have gathered at Cottenham Village College for the biennial County Beaver Jamboree. Beaveree 2007, the biggest event of any single section in the county, gave Beavers an opportunity to celebrate 'International Customs and Cultures' in a variety of ways and was held in conjunction with the Centenary of Scouting. Centenary Camps: Soggy Scouts Celebrate in Style!
Poor weather may have cursed the Bank Holiday weekend but it failed to dampen the spirits of over 2000 scouts as they celebrated the centenary with 4 giant camps across the county. Peterborough Scouts Get "Freedom of the City"
Peterborough Scouts have become the first in Britain to receive the "Freedom of the City" accolade. Around 800 Scouts from Nene and Medehamstede Districts joined together at Peterborough Cathedral to be presented with the official Freedom scroll by Mayor Michael Burton.
