The Big Tidy Up

Cambridge City Council's Street Services Section would like to let your group know about the "Big Tidy Up". Please see the information below and get involved with your group if you would like.

Is your neighbourhood in need of a Big Tidy Up? Are you tired of seeing litter scattered on the streets and spoiling your local area? Well now’s your big chance to do something about it.

This September, Keep Britain Tidy is launching England’s first ever Big Tidy Up - the country’s biggest ever clean up.

We’ve teamed up with Disney Pixar and their latest blockbuster movie WALL-E to encourage as many members of the public to carry out a clean up in their local area and help tidy up our country. So if you want to help clean up a local grot spot, why not get involved?

All you need to do is log on at www.thebigtidyup.org to register and we’ll send you a tidy up kit containing everything you need to spruce up your neighbourhood, including tabard bibs, refuse sacks, a guide, posters to promote your clean up, badges, and stickers

The campaign will launch on 1st September 2008 and you’re encouraged to carry out your clean up during September. However tidy ups can take place at any time throughout the year. And if you are a local authority or land manager you can help too. We need you to promote local clean up events that are taking place in your area and we need your support to offer rubbish collections and provide advice to local residents who are taking part in the campaign.

So whether you’re an individual, a school group, a business or land manager, we need YOUR help to tidy up England. So register today and let’s make England a cleaner, greener place to live!
