Cromwell St George's Day: Through Their Eyes
As told by two Cromwell Cub Scouts
At Copley we played a lot of games and made loads of stuff like planes and rockets. We made the rockets out of a plastic tube and some paper. We put the paper on the tube after we’d designed it then we put it on a pipe and stamped on a coke bottle then the air launched the rocket. Then I made a paper airplane and you had to try and get it through one out of two coat hangers. Then I did a competition where you had to transfer 100 chick peas from one bowl to the other and I came in second place and won a box of Malteasers. We had a break for some burgers which the Scouts made. After that I did a challenge with my mum and my brother and you had to locate places on a map then find the letter in that area and make a word of a fruit but we never finished it because they packed it all away before we’d done it!

At the St.George’s day parade we marched through St.Ives in our packs. As we went people all around us had come out to see us and take photos of us. We come from 1st Fenstanton and Hilton Scout Group there were different group’s from all over Cambridgeshire. The Warner brothers carried the flags with pride. Jack Warner carried the flag for the Beavers and Harry Warner carried the flag for the Cubs. There was a Scottish Pipe Band leading the parade through the town.
