Cub Pack got cooking for Children in Need and raised £212.83
26 boys and girls (aged 8 to 10.5) have been working hard to earn their Chef Badge not content with earning the badge they raised funds for Children in Need at the same time - by preparing and serving a meal for their "local heroes".
This took place at Fen Drayton Village Hall on the evening of Tuesday 17th November. On the morning of the event a Cub, a guest and the Scout Group Chairman were all interviewed live on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire's breakfast show.
Each Cub was allowed to invite one person, this could be anyone from a parent to a teacher or a sports coach to a family friend to a delicious buffet of foods from around the world. The menu they devised included Greek Salad, Pasta Salad, Chicken Yakatori, Noodle stir fry, Mini burgers with rolls, Tropical Fruit Salad,Nigella’s Instant Chocolate Mousse, and much, much more....
The Cubs worked in teams to prepare all these items from scratch on the night, even the rolls for the burgers were made by the Cubs. The table and room were decorated with flags, made by the Cubs, from around the world as the Cub Leaders were, of course, honoured guests a fantastic team of 4 parents planned and organised everything.
The Cubs asked that if the guests enjoyed the evening they made a donation, which will go to Children in Need. They collected a fantastic £212.83
