Cubs Challenge DayCubs Overcome the Elements at Challenge Days 2008
5th October 2008

More than 200 Cub Scouts from all over Cambridgeshire descended on the Copley Scout Campsite and Holt Island Scout Centre, St Ives this weekend for the annual Challenge Days.

Cubs braved the wet and cold weather to tackle canoeing, climbing, archery, first aid, orienteering, fire lighting & cooking theory, assault course and a giant zipwire during the weekend. And for many of them it was the first time they have given these activities a go.

Organisers once again hoped that Copley and Holt Island, on the River Ouse would prove to be a fantastic location for young people to experience the fun, excitement and adventure of Scouting, and they weren't disappointed.

The number of young people and adult volunteers enjoying Scouting in the county is on the increase particularly following the success of the World Scout Jamboree last year. For further information email: join@cambridgeshirescouts.org.uk or contact Chris Ward on 07803 023862.
