18th Cambridge launch Media Gallery18th Cambridge launch Media Gallery
1st May 2008

The 18th Cambridge Scout Group have launched a fantastic new media facility online. The Gallery is home to photos, audio clips and video footage from scouting events and weekly meetings, with the aim of promoting scouting activities locally.

The Gallery has long been an ambition for the group's website and has been compiled by Assistant Beaver Leader, Simon Gates, with the help of the 18th Cambridge Cub leaders. It was made possible thanks to a recent upgrade to the site's v4 format, and the support of parents. As The Gallery went live, Simon commented;

"We want parents and the public to be able to see the sort of activities we do, and how much fun people can have, both young and old, by becoming a scout. The photos and videos tell their own stories."

Over time, the group are hoping to extend their collection by introducing media from 2004-2007, and will upload events from May 2008 onwards as they happen.

The 18th are also asking parents and the public for their views on whether it should consider opening a Scout Troop. You can join the debate or browse The Gallery by visiting their website: www.18th-cambridge.org.uk
