Cambridgeshire Scout Training

All adult members of the Scout Association have to take training according to their needs to fulfil their responsibilities within the Movement.
In Cambridgeshire this training is supervised by the County Training Manager and Deputy County Commissioner, Chris Halliday, and his team.

Training events 2010
Module 3: Getting Started (Tools for the job for section assistants and leaders) runs throughout the County on a frequent basis.
The course is part of the Getting Started programme and is appropriate for all new adult volunteers to Scouting working with young people.

You can attend modules outside your Zone and you don’t need to do the modules in order. If you only need to attend one of the modules being held, or you only have time to attend one, you can do so.You can download application forms here:

After you have attended a module you will need to be validated for your learning and knowledge. Who can validate you? Any suitably qualified Leader can assist in the validation process this may, for example, be by confirming observation of specific activity, confirming you have completed a task such as running a game. It is however your appointed Training Advisor who confirms that the evidence provided is sufficient and to the required standards.

There are regular First Response first aid couses across the County.

Module 25: Assessing Learning
This Module is mandatory for all Managers in Scouting (including Group Scout Leader and Commissioner) plus anyone wishing to be a Training Advisor or Night's Away Advisor.
