County Commissioners Explorer Challenge 2010
Would you like to win a place on a one weeks fully paid Outward Bound Course to be held in Wales, the Lake District or Scotland, worth almost £1,500 per team?
All costs of the course, accommodation and subsistence are covered. There will also be a £100 donation toward transport of the team to the course location.
These residential courses include full training of activities as varied as hill walking, sailing, climbing, canoeing, team challenges and climbing.
There will be runners up prizes for second and third places of £250 and £100 worth of vouchers to spend on expedition / adventure equipment.
The winners will be announced at a special award event toward the end of 2010.
The Challenge
Four projects must be completed by the team between 1st March 2010 and 30th September 2010.
At least one project must be “social” in nature.
A log of each project must be completed and signed off by your District Commissioner, four logs plus an explanation of up to 500 words explaining what the team has both gained and contributed to the overall challenge.
The Projects
All members must take part in each project. The adventurous projects will be marked on distances travelled by a range of methods, the challenge they provide to their members
The social project will be market by the impact it has on your local community and its sustainability after the project ends. Young Leader work or helping with sections does not count towards this challenge.
The Team
1. Comprise of four members who are registered Explorer Scouts.
2. The total age of the team on 31st March 2010 must not exceed 67.
3. Have both male and female members
The Rules
The entrance form must be completed and sent to Karen Thorpe, 21 Abbotsbury, Orton Malborne, Peterborough, PE2 5PS with the entry fee by 31st March 2010.
The closing date for completed project packs signed by your District Commissioner is 31st October 2010.
There is an entry fee of £10.00 per team.
