District Surgery
The District surgery is a drop-in event to offer support for all adults and Young Leaders. Please come and chat about training, 'nights away', program ideas, administration or whatever takes your fancy. It is also an opportunity for us to welcome new volunteers when they come to meet with the Appointments Advisory Committee. The District Commissioner, Local Training Manager and representatives from each section of the District team will be there to give any help or advice that they can. The District badge secretary will also be along to sell pre-ordered badges, certificates, record cards and scarves.
The Copley Crew
Every second Saturday morning (except, perhaps in the summer months) the Copley Service Crew meets from 9 am to 12 noon to maintain the site for use by all in the District and some very regular and grateful visitors
Examples of jobs include clearing the small stream of rubbish and overhanging branches, making repairs to the woodpile fencing and clearing out some of the contaminated wood. We can often make use of someone with a towing hitch, as there's usually a trailer load waiting to go to the recycling centre and the hedges and edges are usually crying out for some TLC. If you're handy with a paintbrush, we often have a couple of painting jobs that need doing
