Cromwell Mountain Club

Snowdonia

Cromwell Mountain Club is a Scout Activities Fellowship with the remit:

"To provide mountain activities for the Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Network Scouts and Leaders in Cromwell District, and to provide the means, for those capable, of helping members to gain mountain activities permits within the Scout Association's existing authorisation scheme."

Through CMC, Cromwell District Scouts have the opportunity to take part in a number of organised trips each year to venues in the Lake District, Snowdonia, the Brecon Beacons and the Peak District. Additionally, CMC organises a biennial trip to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre in Switzerland.

10 - 12 October 2008 - Long Mynd, Shropshire

This is an excellent location for those who want an introduction to hillwalking or ‘real’ mountain biking as the hills are generally nicely rounded and the highest point is only 516 metres above sea level (only just into terrain 1).
