CROMWELL MOUNTAIN CLUB
CONSTITUTION
1. The club shall be known as the Cromwell Mountain Club
2. The objectives of the club are as follows:
To encourage mountain activities in Cromwell District
To organise mountain and other expeditions
To encourage members to take part in mountain activities, and to become competent and qualified mountain leaders
3. Membership is open to the following fully paid up members of the Scout Association in Cromwell District:
Scouts over the age of 12.5 years of age
Explorer Scouts
Scout Network
Adult members of the Scout Association
Members of the District Scout Fellowship
Those eligible shall become members for the year upon attending a CMC organised event.
4. The business of the club shall be conducted by the committee.
5. The committee shall consist of the following:
Elected Members: Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Membership
Publicity Officer
Transport Officer
Quartermaster
Catering Officer
Ex-Officio Members: District Commissioner
ACC (Activities)
District Explorer Scout Administrator
ADC (Scouts)
County Mountain Advisor
District Mountain Advisor
ADC (Activities)
District Network Scouts representative
District Scout Fellowship representative
6. The District Commissioner shall have an over-riding authority with regard to any decision of the Committee.
7. All members of CMC shall be eligible to vote at General Meetings.
8. No meeting of the committee shall be held unless unless at least 5 elected members are present.
9. The Committee shall have the power to suspend membership in the event of misconduct.
10. Other members of the Scout Association not within Cromwell District may take part in CMC events at the discretion of the Committee.
11. This Constitution shall only be changed upon agreement of a majority of the members present at an Annual General Meeting.
12. The business of the Club shall be conducted in accordance with the current rules of the Scout Association.
13. The Committee shall be elected annually at a General Meeting of CMC members, to be held between April and June. The Committee shall have the power to fill the positions falling vacant during the year.
